HGV Class 1 Driver – 4 On 4 Off – Tramping – Broxburn – £19 Per Hour

People Solutions are currently recruiting for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established food distribution client based in Broxburn.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £19.00 per hour PAYE, a £31.20 overnight allowance, a four-on, four-off shift pattern, weekly pay, ongoing work and overtime opportunities. Local drivers may also have the option to alternate overnight stays with returning home between shifts.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, C+E Driver, CE Driver, Class 1 Tramper, Articulated Lorry Driver or HGV Delivery Driver.

Shifts

• Four on, four off shift pattern
• Start times between 22:00 and 05:00
• Tramping duties involving overnight stays
• Local drivers may have the option to complete one overnight stay, return home and then complete another overnight stay
• Overtime available

Rates of Pay

• £19.00 per hour PAYE
• £31.20 overnight allowance
• Holiday pay accrued separately
• Weekly pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Completing bulk deliveries and collections across designated routes
• Driving Category C+E articulated vehicles safely and efficiently
• Loading and unloading goods at certain delivery points
• Ensuring loads are correctly secured before transportation
• Completing pre-shift and post-shift vehicle checks
• Following planned routes and delivery schedules
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Maintaining regular communication with the transport team
• Complying with Drivers' Hours, Tachograph and Road Traffic Regulations
• Providing a professional service to customers

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to complete overnight stays when required

Desirable Experience

• Previous food distribution or bulk delivery experience
• Experience completing deliveries and collections across multiple locations
• Previous tramping experience

Training Provided

• Driver assessment required before starting
• Paid site induction
• Industry-related training
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
