As a Credit Controller in Southampton, you will manage customer accounts and payment activity. You will help keep financial records up to date and support the smooth running of the Accounting & Finance department.

Our client is based in Southampton, and due to a busy period and various ongoing projects, the finance team is looking for additional support.

Description

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, keeping account information accurate and up to date.
• Contact customers regarding outstanding payments and agree practical next steps for settlement.
• Monitor aged debt and follow up balances in line with agreed payment terms.
• Maintain clear records of payment discussions, promises to pay and account queries.
• Investigate invoice queries and work with relevant colleagues to reach timely resolutions.
• Allocate incoming payments accurately to support reliable customer account balances.
• Prepare regular debt and collection updates for the Accounting & Finance team.
• Help improve the flow of credit control activity across the Southampton office.

Profile

A successful Credit Controller should have:

• Experience managing customer accounts and following up outstanding payments.
• Confidence speaking with customers about invoices, balances and payment arrangements.
• The ability to keep accurate records of account activity and payment updates.
• Experience resolving invoice queries in a clear and timely way.
• Good attention to detail when allocating payments and reviewing account balances.
• Comfort working with aged debt information and prioritising follow-up actions.

Job Offer

• Permanent Credit Controller position based in Southampton.
• Salary of £30,000 to £35,000 dependent on the level of experience.
