Putting together and overseeing planning applications and their supporting material. Giving clients and development teams strategic planning guidance. Carrying out site assessments and evaluating development potential. Drafting planning statements, representations and other key documents. Handling planning appeals and negotiating with local planning authorities. Working closely with planning officers, statutory consultees, consultants and wider stakeholders. Assisting clients with development promotion and Local Plan matters.What we're looking for in the Senior Town Planner: A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a closely related field. Chartered membership of the RTPI (MRTPI). Substantial experience gained in a planning consultancy, local authority or similar planning setting. Sound understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy. A track record of preparing and managing planning applications. Experience engaging with planning authorities and negotiating on planning issues. Outstanding written and verbal communication. Strong organisational and project management skills. Confidence in working directly with clients and professional teams. A proactive, practical and solutions-driven mindset.
