Multiskills Tutor Permanent Location: Stoke on Trent Salary: From £30,000 per annum Are you an adaptable, practical-minded educator looking for a role where your teaching genuinely changes outcomes? About the Role We are recruiting a Multiskills Tutor to join an education provider in the justice sector, delivering practical, hands-on skills training to young learners within a young offenders' institution. This is a unique opportunity to support young people on their rehabilitation journey, helping them build the practical skills, confidence and qualifications needed to progress into employment, training or further education. You'll deliver engaging, inclusive multiskills sessions to small groups of learners with a wide range of educational backgrounds, learning needs and abilities. Many of your learners will have had difficult experiences of education, so patience, empathy and a genuine belief in each individual's potential will matter as much as your practical expertise. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging, practical multiskills lessons tailored to learners' abilities and backgrounds. Embedding literacy, numeracy and employability skills into practical sessions to support progression. Assessing learners' starting points and maintaining accurate Individual Learning Plans. Monitoring and recording learner progress, attendance and achievement. Acting as a positive role model, identifying barriers to learning and supporting learners to overcome them. Working alongside prison staff and support teams to ensure a safe, structured learning environment. What We're Looking For Essential: A relevant vocational qualification in a practical or trade-related subject Experience delivering practical or vocational skills training Strong classroom and behaviour management skills Excellent communication skills and the resilience to work in a secure environment Desirable (but not essential): A Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) — candidates without this but willing to work towards it are encouraged to apply Experience within youth justice, prison education or further education settings What We Offer Full training and ongoing professional development The opportunity to make a genuine, lasting difference to young people's futures If you're ready to bring your practical skills and passion for teaching to a role that truly matters, we'd love to hear from you.
