Senior Architect / Senior Architectural Technologist
Practice Leadership Opportunity | Up to £75,000 + Profit Share + Equity
Are you an experienced Senior Architect or Architectural Technologist who is ready to take the next step beyond project delivery and play a major role in running and developing an architectural practice? This is a rare opportunity to join an established small to medium-sized architectural practice at an exciting point in its development following a recent acquisition. The practice has built an excellent reputation within the education sector, alongside a diverse portfolio of work across other sectors. The new owners are now looking for an experienced architectural professional who can help lead the business, develop the team and drive the practice forward.

The OpportunityThis is much more than a traditional Senior Architect or Technologist position. You will take a leading role in the day-to-day management and future direction of the practice, combining your architectural and technical expertise with strong commercial and business management skills. Responsibilities will include:

• Helping to lead and manage the architectural practice
• Overseeing projects, resources, workload and delivery
• Managing and mentoring architects, technologists and technical staff
• Maintaining high standards of design and technical delivery
• Developing and strengthening relationships with existing clients
• Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
• Helping shape the commercial strategy and future growth of the practice
• Working closely with the new owners on investment, recruitment and business planning
• Continuing to build on the practice's strong reputation within education and other sectors

About YouWe are keen to speak with either a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist who has already operated at a senior level within an architectural practice. Ideally, you will have:

• Significant experience within an architectural practice
• Previous responsibility for practice management, studio leadership or business operations
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how to run a successful architectural business
• Experience managing people, projects, resources and client relationships
• The confidence to contribute to business development and growth
• A strong technical understanding of architectural project delivery
• Excellent client-facing and leadership skills

Previous education-sector experience would be advantageous, although broader experience across architecture and the built environment is equally welcome. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who wants to help build and grow a business rather than simply take on another senior architectural position.What's On Offer?This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants significantly more influence over the direction of the business and the opportunity to share in its future success.
