Interim Senior HR Advisor

Location: Northampton

Rate: £28.61 per hour Umbrella

Contract: Until the end of April 2027

Working arrangement: Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite per week

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to support a local authority HR team in Northampton on an interim basis.

The successful candidate will provide generalist HR support to managers, offering practical advice and guidance across a range of employee matters, alongside supporting the implementation of a TUPE transfer from a housing organisation into the local authority.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide generalist HR advice and support to managers across a range of employee-related matters.
• Support managers through HR casework, including employee relations issues.
• Assist with the implementation of a TUPE transfer, providing guidance and support throughout the process.
• Advise on HR policies, procedures and relevant employment legislation.
• Support organisational change and ensure HR processes are followed consistently.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an effective HR service.

Essential experience:

• Strong generalist HR advisory experience.
• Experience supporting managers with HR casework and employee relations matters.
• Experience or knowledge of TUPE transfers.
• Previous experience within local government, the wider public sector or the housing sector is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
