Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in corporate restructuring, organisational design or complex business transformation?
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Project Manager to support a significant organisational transformation involving the transition of services to an external provider and the subsequent restructuring and wind-down of an existing joint venture.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a complex, business-critical project, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to coordinate activities, challenge existing plans and ensure the remaining business operations are managed effectively through to closure.
The successful candidate will bring strong project delivery experience, an understanding of corporate restructuring and the confidence to work across multiple business functions to drive progress and identify potential risks.
The RoleReporting into the wider transformation programme, you will lead the delivery of a standalone project focused on managing the residual activities of the existing business following the transition of services to an external provider.
You will work closely with executive stakeholders and functional leads across finance, legal, commercial, risk and compliance to coordinate activities, maintain governance and ensure the organisation is prepared for the eventual wind-down of the joint venture.
This is a delivery-focused role for someone who can combine strategic oversight with practical, hands-on project management.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate a complex corporate restructuring and business transformation project.
Review and challenge existing plans to ensure all required activities are identified, prioritised and delivered.
Support organisational design and restructuring activities, identifying what needs to continue, change or cease as the business transitions.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and actions.
Establish and maintain effective project governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Coordinate multiple workstreams, ensuring that dependencies are understood and potential issues are identified and addressed.
Work with finance and other functional leads to coordinate outstanding financial, audit and corporate responsibilities.
Support planning for the eventual wind-down of the existing joint venture and corporate entity.
Identify gaps, risks and overlooked activities, proactively challenging stakeholders and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
Prepare clear, concise project updates, management information and board-level papers.
Provide hands-on leadership, driving delivery directly rather than relying solely on administrative or PMO support.
We are looking for an experienced project delivery professional who has worked in complex transformation or restructuring environments.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience managing complex projects, programmes or business transformation initiatives.
Direct experience of corporate restructuring, organisational redesign, business reorganisation or company wind-down.
The ability to understand the practical steps involved in restructuring a business or function.
Strong project governance, planning, risk management and reporting skills.
Experience coordinating multiple workstreams and managing senior stakeholders.
The confidence to challenge existing assumptions, identify gaps and ask the right questions.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable plans.
Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of senior management or board-level reports.
A proactive, pragmatic and delivery-focused approach.
Experience supporting a company closure, administration process or similar corporate wind-down would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Importantly, we are not looking for a traditional Project Manager alone. We need someone who understands the complexities of corporate restructuring and can bring the experience, judgement and practical delivery skills required to move this work forward.
Working ArrangementsThis role will be predominantly remote, with occasional travel to Northampton for workshops and stakeholder meetings.
The initial contract is expected to run for approximately 6–9 months, reflecting the anticipated requirements of the restructuring project.
