Finance Systems Analyst | Liverpool | £34,000 | Permanent, hybrid
We are recruiting for a Finance Systems Analyst to join a well-established and highly regarded business based in Liverpool.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting and developing finance systems who enjoys problem-solving, improving processes and working collaboratively across different departments.
Working as part of the wider Finance team, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the organisation's financial systems, supporting users, troubleshooting technical issues and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, maintain and support a range of financial systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Troubleshoot system issues, working closely with Finance, IT and other internal stakeholders.
Create and execute SQL queries to support reporting, data analysis and system requirements.
Support system integrations, upgrades, testing and new implementations.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve workflows and enhance system functionality.
Maintain system configurations, user access, standing data and reconciliations.
Produce ad-hoc reports and support data extraction using Excel, Power Query and SQL.
Assist with finance-related projects, including month-end and year-end activities.
Document processes, support internal controls and provide training to system users.
We're looking for a proactive, technically capable individual who combines strong systems knowledge with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ideally, you'll have:
Previous experience in a Finance Systems Analyst, Finance Systems Administrator or similar role.
Strong SQL skills, with the ability to independently write and execute queries.
Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, pivot tables and data manipulation.
Experience supporting financial systems, including integrations, upgrades and system improvements.
An understanding of finance processes and how systems support business operations.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve issues independently.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across different departments.
