What does your typical day look like?

Working on the production line, the purpose of the role is to provide an efficient and safe packaging of finished product into tubs or outers whilst checking quality attributes. This role requires full compliance with Company Food Safety, Health & Safety, Quality and Hygiene requirements i.e. factory dress code and hand-washing procedure.

Shifts Available:

• 4 on, 4 off.
• 12-hour shifts.
• Day Shift (7AM-7PM)
• Night Shift (7PM-7AM)

What You'll Be Doing

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing for production: Confirming the daily production plan with your Front Line Manager and ensuring that you are fully prepared for each production run.
• Mixing and preparing dough: Following recipes, instructions and standard operating procedures to prepare dough correctly for biscuit production.
• Operating production equipment: Supporting the baking process and operating relevant machinery to ensure biscuits are produced consistently and efficiently.
• Manufacturing of caramel and machine operation: Following recipes, instructions and standard operating procedures to prepare caramel correctly for biscuit filling.
• Manufacturing of Cream fillings and machinery operation: Following recipes, instructions and standard operating procedures to prepare caramel correctly for biscuit filling.
• Overseeing production ovens and maintain high standard of baked goods: Make sure baked goods are in speck and up to company standards.
• Operation of Chocolate enrobers: Overseeing and operating chocolate coating process, making sure that all product is up to quality standards and specifications.
• Checking product quality: Carrying out Product Quality Attribute (PQA) checks to ensure biscuits meet the required standards for size, shape, appearance, quality and specification.
• Maintaining product standards: Monitoring the production process and identifying any biscuits that are out of specification or potentially contaminated.
• Checking product codes: Ensuring that product codes are correctly positioned and displayed in accordance with PQA requirements.
• Supporting the packing process: Feeding equipment such as creamers, enrobers and wrapping machines, as required, to maintain the correct production output and follow all relevant SOPs and SSOWs.
• Maintaining hygiene and housekeeping: Ensuring blue tubs are properly lidded, keeping packaging materials and tubs off the floor, and following our “Clean As You Go” standards.
• Working safely: Keeping your workstation clean and tidy, ensuring floors are free from slip and trip hazards, and following all food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Reporting concerns: Immediately informing your Front Line Manager of any product quality issues, contamination, out-of-specification products or risks to product safety.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Good communication skills: The ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and managers, with a good understanding of written and spoken English to follow instructions and production procedures.
• Attention to detail: The ability to spot differences in biscuit size, shape, appearance and quality, ensuring products meet the required specifications.
• Good manual dexterity: The ability to handle biscuits and carry out repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently.
• The ability to work at pace: Confidence working in a fast-moving production environment, handling products on moving conveyor belts or production lines while maintaining quality and safety.
• Teamwork: A positive, supportive approach and a willingness to help colleagues to achieve production targets.
• The ability to follow instructions: A commitment to following guidance from your Front Line Manager and other team members, as well as established procedures.
• Flexibility and a willingness to learn: An adaptable attitude and a willingness to learn different tasks across the production line.
• A quality-focused mindset: The ability to check biscuits, packaging and product codes, identify defects and raise concerns promptly.
