About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organised School Receptionist to join a welcoming school in Peterborough on a temporary basis. This assignment is expected to last 2-6 weeks and offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy school environment.

As the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school's reception and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors, and external agencies.
• Welcoming visitors and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
• Answering and directing telephone calls and responding to email enquiries.
• Managing school email inboxes and forwarding enquiries as appropriate.
• Supporting with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
• Assisting with attendance administration and pupil records.
• Preparing correspondence, reports, and general documentation.
• Supporting the organisation of school events and activities.
• Undertaking general administrative duties as directed.
• Maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• Previous reception, administration, or customer service experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Professional and welcoming manner.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential.
• Previous experience within a school setting is desirable but not essential.
