About the Role

Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Food Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term position.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher to join a supportive Design & Technology department and deliver engaging, practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.

The successful candidate will encourage students to develop their practical cooking skills, knowledge of nutrition, food preparation techniques and understanding of food safety.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Teach practical food preparation and cooking skills
• Develop students' understanding of nutrition, healthy eating and food science
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements
• Prepare students for GCSE-level assessments and practical work where required
• Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, health and safety during practical lessons
• Contribute positively to departmental planning and the wider school community

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification
• Has experience teaching Food Technology, Food Preparation & Nutrition or a related subject
• Confident teaching across KS3 and KS4
• Strong practical cooking and food preparation knowledge
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Enthusiastic about engaging students through practical learning
• Committed to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for young people
• ECTs are encouraged to apply
