Sterling Williams are supporting an International Bank, based in the West End of London in their search for an Accounts Payable Clerk. The successful candidate will likely have a background in Financial Services, and experience using Oracle systems.

Accounts Payable Clerk

Full-time, Office based 4 days per week, with 1 from home

Salary circa £35 - 40,000 pa plus benefits

2 year Fixed Term Contract initially

The candidate will be involved in numerous tasks, but mainly:

• Process all invoices in a timely manner so that suppliers are paid according to their due dates.
• Having a working knowledge of month end close, including calculating and posting expenditure accruals and prepayments.
• Maintain the AP database ensuring accurate up to date data for expense and VAT processing.
• Daily and monthly Nostro reconciliations.
• Prepare and execute secure domestic and international payment runs.
• Inputting journals into ERP systems (Oracle) as instructed by the management.
• Prepare suspense accounts reconciliation as instructed by Management.
• Ad-hoc analysis of overheads and invoices.
• Alert line management of any discrepancy or unusual invoice.
• Prepare manual bank confirmations for review on an ad-hoc basis.
• Implement rigorous anti-fraud controls. Execute Know Your Vendor (KYV) verifications prior to amending any supplier static data or banking beneficiary details.
• Collect transactional data and support internal and external auditors to prove operating effectiveness of internal financial controls.

The successful candidate will likely have the following experience:

• Financial Services experience preferable or worked in a similar environment
• They must have very good organisational skills
• Previous experience of using the Oracle system would be a benefit
• Previous Accounts Payable experience and can-do prepayments, accruals and Nostro reconciliations
• Good communication skills
• Good attention to detail
