Insurance & Risk Manager
Glasgow (Hybrid) | Contract

Be-IT is supporting a global engineering group, headquartered in Glasgow, to appoint a Contract Insurance & Risk Manager, ideally ASAP.

This is a senior, high-visibility role. You’ll work with the Group Head of Risk & Insurance and take the lead on the Group’s multinational insurance programmes. You’ll be the go-to technical expert on insurable risk, and you’ll have real scope to challenge and reshape how the business approaches risk transfer.

What you’ll be doing

  • Running the global programme: You’ll manage and develop the Group’s multinational insurance programmes and lead the annual renewal from start to finish. That covers exposure analysis, underwriting submissions, market engagement and negotiating terms.
  • Making multinational work: You’ll coordinate local policies, premium allocation and compliance across a wide spread of territories, working with brokers, insurers and the business.
  • Advising the business: You’ll give authoritative advice on coverage, policy wordings and contractual risk. This includes supporting major contracts, tenders, projects, M&A activity and entry into new territories.
  • Leading on claims and loss prevention: You’ll steer significant and complex claims to maximise recoveries. You’ll also lead property loss-control and risk-engineering activity across the Group.
  • Managing the market: You’ll build strong relationships across the London and international insurance markets and actively manage the performance of brokers and insurers. You’ll also help shape the Group’s future risk-financing strategy, including alternative solutions.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong technical insurance expertise gained in a large multinational, a broker or an insurer, with hands-on experience of complex multinational programmes
  • A solid understanding of the London market across renewal, placement and claims
  • Broad knowledge across classes of cover, ideally Property & BI, Casualty, Marine Cargo and Financial Lines, plus confidence interpreting policy wordings
  • ACII or an equivalent professional qualification
  • The presence and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
  • Risk management, contractual/commercial or M&A experience would be a strong advantage

Applicants must be permanently authorised to work in the UK without sponsorship.
