Atomic is delighted to be partnering with an established accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounts Manager. They have been providing tailored accounting solutions to a diverse clientele for over four decades. From their humble beginnings, they've grown into a trusted partner for businesses of all sizes, offering personalised support and expert advice.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing their own client portfolio independently, overseeing accounts preparation, tax compliance and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of limited companies and undertake reviews of work where required.
• Prepare and submit corporation tax returns in respect of all limited company accounts prepared.
• Independently prepare, collate and submit approximately 70 personal tax returns to HMRC.
• Review VAT returns and MTD submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Occasional preparation may also be required.
• Manage an allocated client portfolio independently, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
• Liaise confidently with clients via telephone and email, handling queries and maintaining strong client relationships.

Candidate Requirements

• ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years' solid post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong experience in statutory accounts preparation and review.
• Good knowledge of corporation tax and personal tax compliance.
• Experience preparing and submitting personal tax returns independently.
• Working knowledge of VAT and Making Tax Digital.
• Confident managing a client portfolio with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to deal directly with clients
