SEN Teaching Assistant

Milton Keynes | £475-£500 per week | Immediate Start

Not every breakthrough is measured in grades. Sometimes, it's a child finding their confidence, managing a difficult moment, or discovering they can do something they once thought impossible. Could you be the person who helps make that happen?

We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Milton Keynes. If you have experience providing 1:1 support and know how to help children feel safe, settled and ready to learn, this could be the role for you.

Your experience matters in this role. You'll provide consistent, individualised support to help pupils engage with learning, manage their emotions and develop their confidence and independence. Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you'll help create a structured, supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to make progress.

What you'll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Providing 1:1 and classroom support for pupils with ASD and additional needs.
  • Supporting learning, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Adapting activities to suit individual learning needs.
  • Building trusting relationships and providing consistency throughout the school day.
  • Working with the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils' progress and wellbeing.

What we're looking for in a SEN Teaching Assistant in Milton Keynes

  • Previous experience in an SEN setting is essential.
  • Hands-on experience supporting children or young people on a 1:1 basis.
  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD and additional needs.
  • A patient, calm and consistent approach to challenging situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliability and a genuine commitment to helping children succeed.

What's on offer

  • £95-£100 per day, depending on experience.
  • Consistent weekday hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Working hours of 8:30am-3:30pm during term time.
  • Opportunities for SEN-specific training and professional development.
  • Experience within a mainstream primary school with SEND provision.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils' learning, confidence and wellbeing.

If you have the relevant SEN experience and are ready for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
