The firm offers genuine flexibility, a supportive culture and exposure to an interesting mix of clients across multiple sectors.

The Opportunity

You will take responsibility for planning, leading and completing audits, acting as the senior on assignments and supporting junior team members throughout the process. The role is heavily audit-focused, with approximately 90% of your time dedicated to audit work and a smaller element of accounts preparation.

You will work with a broad portfolio of clients ranging from small owner-managed businesses through to larger organisations operating across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Conduct audit fieldwork both remotely and on client sites
  • Prepare and review audit documentation
  • Prepare statutory financial statements under FRS 102 and other relevant frameworks
  • Review junior team members' work and provide coaching and guidance
  • Liaise directly with clients, managers and partners throughout assignments
  • Monitor budgets and assignment progress
  • Identify and communicate recommendations to clients where appropriate
  • Assist with accounts preparation and related compliance work

About You

To be considered, you must already be operating at Audit Senior level within an accountancy practice environment.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience leading audits from planning through to completion
  • Strong exposure to owner-managed businesses and SME clients
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff
  • A background working within a mid-tier or similarly sized accountancy practice
  • Strong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • The ability to work independently and hit the ground running

Desirable

  • Experience using CCH Audit Automation and CCH Accounts Production
  • Exposure to a broad range of sectors including charities, professional services, property, manufacturing, recruitment and regulated entities
  • Full UK driving licence (not essential)

What's on Offer?

  • Salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Flexible working hours with core hours of 10am-4pm
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Life Assurance
  • Enhanced pension contribution
  • Holiday buy and sell scheme
  • Long service awards
  • Season ticket loan scheme
  • Excellent exposure to a diverse and interesting client portfolio
  • Clear development opportunities within an established and growing practice
