If it isn't right, it isn't going in.
That's the job in one line. You're the checkpoint between a supplier's delivery and a UK defence programme, and you've got the final say.
I'm recruiting for a specialist UK defence electronics business. They're adding a QC Inspector to a tight quality team. It's small enough that your work gets noticed, and serious enough that it matters.
What you'll be doing
Inspecting incoming goods, components and materials against drawings, specs and purchase orders
Carrying out stage and final inspection on PCBAs, electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies
Running visual and dimensional checks with verniers, micrometers, gauges and electronic test kit
Checking certs, paperwork and traceability so nothing slips through undocumented
Raising non-conformances and working with suppliers, Engineering and Quality to fix root causes
Keeping inspection records accurate and systems up to date
Pitching in on stores, stock control and continuous improvement when needed What you'll bring
Goods-in and production inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
Defence and electronics experience
Confidence reading engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
Hands-on use of mechanical and electronic measuring equipment
A methodical, detail-obsessed approach and solid record-keeping
Good communication skills and an easy way of working across teams Bonus points
IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 trained
SC clearance already in place Why this one
Real ownership in a small quality team, not a cog in a 40-person department
Work on defence electronics that actually ships and actually matters
