We are working with an established business in Middlesbrough who are looking to strengthen their finance team with the appointment of an experienced Finance Coordinator.

This is a varied opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take ownership across transactional finance, month-end accounting, management accounts and cash flow. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting the financial operations of two group companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage sales and purchase ledger functions across two companies
• Process and reconcile invoices, credit notes and payments
• Raise customer invoices and monitor debt collection
• Maintain fixed asset registers and prepare accrual and prepayment schedules
• Assist with WIP reporting and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
• Produce overhead cost and variance reports
• Monitor and report on cash flow
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end processes
• Provide financial information and analysis to support decision-making
• Liaise with operational teams and support external auditors and accountants
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a finance or accounting role, with a sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

You will ideally have experience with:

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role covering transactional and month-end accounting
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with sales ledger, purchase ledger, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
• Understanding of management accounts and cash flow management
• Competent user of Microsoft Excel and financial accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload
• WIP accounting and reporting experience would be advantageous
• AAT qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification would be advantageous, although suitably experienced candidates will be considered

What's on Offer?

• £30,000–£35,000 salary, depending on experience
• Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
