Finance Officer (Accounting)

Location: Remote (with occasional travel to meetings across the South West)
Contract: Fixed Term until 28 February 2027
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Reed is delighted to be working in partnership with a Multi-Academy Trust to recruit a Finance Officer (Accounting) on a fixed-term contract until 28 February 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong accounting knowledge to support schools across the Trust. The role is predominantly remote, with occasional attendance required at meetings within the South West region.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing accruals and prepayments.
• Reviewing and reconciling school accounts.
• Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Analysing financial information and identifying discrepancies.
• Assisting schools with financial queries and reporting requirements.
• Ensuring financial records are accurate and compliant with Trust procedures.
• Working closely with the wider finance team to maintain high standards of financial control.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• A minimum of AAT Level 3 qualification or be Qualified by Experience (QBE).
• Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, Management Accounts, or similar accounting role.
• Experience preparing accruals and prepayments.
• Strong reconciliation and account review skills.
• Good Excel and financial systems knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
