Our client is looking to recruit a Demolition HSQE Manager to provide specialist guidance across its demolition operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical approach to managing risk, supporting site teams and driving continuous improvement.

You'll work alongside project and operational colleagues to help ensure activities are planned effectively, potential hazards are addressed and the right procedures are in place before work begins. With a combination of site visits, technical assessments and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, this role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities as Demolition HSQE Manager:
  • Assess project requirements and identify potential health, safety, quality and environmental risks before work commences.
  • Prepare and review project specific risk assessments, method statements and supporting safety documentation.
  • Provide technical advice on demolition planning, structural dismantling, work sequencing and the control of site hazards.
  • Help manage risks associated with temporary works, lifting operations, asbestos, underground services and overhead utilities.
  • Carry out site visits to review working practices, identify improvement opportunities and ensure agreed actions are completed.
  • Support Site Managers and operational colleagues with safety advice, toolbox talks and the implementation of control measures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying lessons learned and recommending preventative measures.
  • Assist with tender submissions, project planning and pre-start meetings to ensure safety requirements are considered at an early stage.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and specialist advisers to address technical queries and improve HSQE performance.
Experience Required as Demolition HSQE Manager:
  • Substantial experience within the demolition sector, with a good understanding of demolition techniques, site activities and associated risks.
  • Previous experience in a health and safety, technical or compliance focused position within demolition or a closely related construction environment.
  • The ability to develop and assess suitable safety documentation for complex or higher risk activities.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, including CDM Regulations 2015 and BS 6187.
  • A recognised health and safety qualification, such as a NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as IOSH, would be beneficial.
  • Additional qualifications in demolition management, site management or temporary works would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices and manage competing priorities.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
In Return as Demolition HSQE Manager You Will Receive:
  • Salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Company car.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Opportunities for additional training, professional development and career progression.
  • Regular salary reviews and potential performance-related bonus opportunities.
  • Flexible start and finish times, subject to business and site requirements.
  • A varied role where you can influence safety practices, support operational teams and contribute to successful project delivery.
If you're looking for a role where you can put your demolition expertise and health and safety knowledge to good use, this could be an excellent next step.
