Site Engineer – Residential Construction Location: Harlow, Essex Salary: £100,000 per annum Employment: Permanent, Full-Time The Opportunity Ridgeway & Co Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join an established main contractor delivering residential and mixed-use construction projects in Harlow, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Site Engineer with experience working on multi-storey residential developments, apartment schemes and reinforced concrete (RC) frame construction. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction works are accurately set out, technically compliant and delivered in line with project drawings, specifications and programme requirements. Working closely with the Site Management, Engineering and Commercial teams, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and coordination throughout the construction process. Key Responsibilities * Carrying out setting out, surveying and dimensional control across residential construction projects. * Ensuring construction works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. * Supporting the delivery of reinforced concrete frames, structural works and associated building packages. * Coordinating engineering activities with subcontractors, site management and the wider project team. * Checking levels, dimensions and positioning to ensure accuracy throughout construction. * Maintaining quality assurance records, site inspections and as-built documentation. * Assisting with technical queries, resolving engineering issues and identifying potential discrepancies. * Monitoring site progress and ensuring works are completed in line with the construction programme. * Ensuring engineering activities comply with health, safety and quality requirements. * Reviewing construction drawings and identifying potential design or technical issues before works commence. * Providing technical support to site teams and subcontractors to ensure works are completed correctly and efficiently. About You The successful candidate will have proven experience working as a Site Engineer within a main contractor or specialist subcontractor environment, ideally on residential or large-scale building projects. You will ideally demonstrate: * Experience working on multi-storey residential developments or apartment construction. * Strong knowledge of setting out, surveying and dimensional control. * Experience with reinforced concrete frames and structural construction. * Competence using total stations, surveying equipment and relevant engineering software. * The ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information. * A good understanding of construction methods, quality assurance and site engineering procedures. * Strong communication and organisational skills. * The ability to coordinate effectively with site management, subcontractors and the wider project team. * A relevant Civil Engineering or Construction qualification. * A valid CSCS card.
