Estimator

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for an Estimator to join a growing environmental consultancy business operating within the ecology and biodiversity sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and ambitious business with a strong pipeline of work, where you will play a key role in supporting commercial growth and improving the efficiency of the estimating process.

As the Estimator, you will take ownership of a high volume of incoming enquiries, preparing accurate quotations, bills of quantities and tender documentation for existing clients. With a high volume of incoming enquiries received each day, you will be responsible for ensuring quotes are prepared promptly, professionally and accurately, helping the wider team focus on project delivery and business development.

As the Estimator, you will:

• Manage a high volume of incoming enquiries, preparing quotations, bills of quantities and tender documentation within agreed timescales.
• Acknowledge new enquiries promptly, maintaining clear communication with clients and providing regular updates throughout the quotation process.
• Review project information and pricing requirements to produce accurate, professional and commercially competitive quotations.
• Maintain accurate pipeline information within the company's systems, logging enquiries, client communications, quote progress and outcomes.
• Monitor quotation performance, follow up on submitted quotes and gather client feedback to help improve conversion rates.
• Work closely with internal teams to support wider tender activity, identify opportunities and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

To be considered for the Estimator role, you will need:

• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and professional quotations and tender documents.
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage a busy workload while meeting tight deadlines.
• Confidence communicating with clients over the phone and by email, building relationships and providing a professional first point of contact.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to take ownership of enquiries and see them through to completion.
• Strong attention to detail and a commercial mindset, with an interest in understanding pricing, project requirements and business performance.
• Experience using CRM, ERP or other business management systems would be beneficial, although training can be provided.
• Previous estimating or tendering experience within construction, environmental services, ecology or consultancy would be advantageous but is not essential.
