Nearly £70,000. Eight-hour shifts. Monday to Friday.
If you're an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to earn excellent money without working 12-hour shifts or sacrificing your weekends, this opportunity deserves your attention.
We're recruiting for a leading FMCG manufacturer in East London, at what I often describe to engineers as the Premier League of manufacturing sites.
The engineering standards are exceptionally high, the management team is excellent, and the variety of equipment is something you won't find in many manufacturing environments.
So, what's the opportunity?
Firstly, let's talk about the money.
£69,235 per year, including shift allowance.
And unlike many engineering positions paying this sort of salary, you won't be working a continental shift pattern or 12-hour shifts.
Instead, you'll work Monday to Friday, rotating weekly between:
* Earlies: 6am–2pm
* Lates: 2pm–10pm
* Nights: 10pm–6am
That's eight-hour shifts, five days a week, with your weekends free.
What's the engineering environment like?
This is where the opportunity gets particularly interesting.
You'll be working at a huge, established manufacturing site that combines traditional heavy mechanical engineering with some of the latest automation, robotics and sophisticated control systems.
There's an enormous variety of equipment, and you'll be involved in everything from planned and reactive maintenance through to complex fault-finding, root cause analysis, reliability improvements and engineering projects.
You'll also be surrounded by some genuinely talented engineers, supported by an experienced engineering management team that takes engineering seriously.
It's the sort of environment where good engineers thrive.
What experience will you need?
At this salary level, the business is looking for engineers who really know their stuff.
You'll need to be a fully Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, confident working across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
You'll also need:
* A minimum Level 3 engineering qualification, ideally apprenticeship trained.
* Experience maintaining automated manufacturing or continuous process equipment.
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
* Experience with preventative maintenance and improving plant reliability.
What about the commute?
If you're travelling from Essex or Kent, you'll need to factor in the journey into East London.
But if you're within roughly an hour of the site, it's worth considering what you're getting in return.
For engineers living in London, particularly South East London, public transport can also be a convenient option.
Worth a conversation?
If you're already a strong Multi-Skilled Engineer, earning decent money but looking for that next step financially, this could be a particularly attractive move.
**£69,235. Monday to Friday. Eight-hour shifts. Weekends free. And the opportunity to work at one of the most impressive engineering sites around**.
