Electrical Shift Engineer Location: Angel Court, Bank, London Salary: Up to £52,500 per annum Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – Days, 07:00–19:00 Call-Out: 1 week in 4 Call-Out Rate: £107 per week The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer to join a high-profile commercial critical environment at Angel Court in the City of London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Electrical Engineer looking to work within a well-established engineering team, responsible for maintaining and operating critical building services while ensuring a safe, reliable and professional environment for the client. Working on a 4-on, 4-off day shift pattern (07:00–19:00), you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the building, responding to faults and ensuring all electrical systems remain operational and compliant. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site. Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely. Maintain and monitor LV electrical distribution systems, switchgear, lighting and associated equipment. Carry out electrical isolations and switching in accordance with site procedures. Respond to alarms, breakdowns and building services issues. Support planned shutdowns, testing and maintenance activities. Complete maintenance records and update the CAFM system. Work closely with the wider engineering team and specialist contractors. Ensure all works are carried out in line with relevant health & safety procedures and electrical regulations. Assist with maintaining a high standard of compliance, documentation and engineering standards across the site. Participate in the 1 week in 4 call-out rota, responding to out-of-hours issues when required. About You The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer within a commercial building, critical environment or similar setting. Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience. Relevant electrical qualifications, ideally 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Good knowledge of LV distribution, electrical plant and building services. Experience working within a client-facing environment. A strong understanding of health & safety and safe systems of work. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of an engineering team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Willingness to participate in the call-out rota.
