Graduate Teaching Assistant (Temporary / Flexible) - North London What is a Graduate Teaching Assistant? A Graduate Teaching Assistant supports the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and helping pupils get the most out of their learning. It's a popular role for recent graduates who are considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, or other careers working with children, and want first-hand classroom experience before committing to further study or a teaching qualification. Graduate TAs work closely with the class teacher, supporting small groups or individual pupils and helping reinforce what's being taught. Do you need a teaching qualification? * No! A Graduate Teaching Assistant role does not require QTS, a PGCE, or any formal teaching qualification. You'll simply need to hold a degree (in any subject) along with strong communication and organisational skills. This makes it an ideal stepping stone for graduates who are exploring teaching as a career but aren't yet ready to commit to a teacher training programme. Why work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant?
