Class 2 HGV Driver / Removals Professional

About the Role

An established and growing removals and logistics business is looking for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver / Removals Professional to join its team.

This is a varied role combining professional driving responsibilities with hands-on removals work, offering the opportunity to work across a range of commercial and business relocation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving 18-tonne, 12-tonne, 7.5-tonne and 3.5-tonne vehicles
• Delivering and collecting goods between customer sites and operational locations
• Loading, unloading and handling customer goods safely and professionally
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting defects
• Ensuring vehicles are clean, fuelled and roadworthy
• Planning routes and jobs efficiently
• Maintaining excellent communication with customers and colleagues
• Adhering to all driving legislation, company procedures and health & safety requirements
• Supporting general removals and porter duties as required
• Representing the business professionally at all times

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience within the removals industry
• Minimum 2 years' experience driving goods vehicles
• Valid Category C (Class 2) licence
• Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Professional and reliable approach to work
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
• Clean licence preferred although minor endorsements may be considered

Working Pattern

• Full-time, permanent position
• 6 days one week and 5 days the following week
• Approximately 80% local work and 20% UK-wide work
• Overtime available
• Working hours subject to legal driving and working time regulations
