Imperium Financial Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established firm of solicitors in Bolton seeking an experienced fee earner to manage Housing Disrepair claims with confidence, care and commercial awareness.

This role will suit someone who enjoys responsibility, takes a proactive approach to progressing files and wants to make a valuable contribution to an established legal practice.

Your role

You will take ownership of an allocated caseload, progressing claims from initial assessment through to settlement or litigation, according to your experience and level of responsibility.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing the merits of claims and identifying the evidence needed to progress them.
• Taking detailed instructions and explaining the claims process clearly.
• Preparing letters of claim and progressing matters under the relevant pre-action protocol.
• Reviewing tenancy documents, repair histories, photographs and expert reports.
• Liaising with landlords, insurers, surveyors, experts and opposing solicitors.
• Negotiating settlements, including compensation and proposed repair arrangements.
• Preparing legal documents and progressing litigated matters where appropriate.
• Monitoring limitation dates, court directions and other key deadlines.
• Maintaining accurate files and meeting agreed quality, compliance and performance standards.

What you will bring

• Previous experience handling Housing Disrepair claims.
• The ability to manage a caseload with an appropriate level of independence.
• Sound knowledge of the relevant claims process and civil litigation procedures.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and organisational skills.
• A practical approach to resolving problems and progressing cases.
• Professional, empathetic communication with clients.
