Engage Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Peacehaven that is looking for an enthusiastic and caring EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Nursery and Reception team from October 2026.

About the role

Working alongside the EYFS team, you'll help create a fun, nurturing environment where children feel confident to explore, learn and develop.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting children 1:1 and in small groups
• Providing targeted support and interventions
• Supporting pupils with SEND, including children with ASC
• Helping children access engaging EYFS activities
• Supporting children's communication, social and emotional development
• Encouraging independence and confidence through play-based learning
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
• Helping create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with children in an educational or childcare setting
• Ideally experienced supporting children with SEN/ASC
• Confident working within the EYFS framework
• Patient, caring and naturally nurturing
• Creative and enthusiastic about engaging young learners
• Passionate about helping children reach their potential
• A strong communicator and team player

Graduates with an interest in pursuing a career in teaching are also encouraged to apply.
