School Cleaner

Hours: 12.5 hours per week – 2.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. 3pm - 5.30pm OR 3.30pm - 6pm.

Working Weeks: 39 weeks term time plus 1 week during the summer holidays for deep cleaning.

Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour

Salary: Annualised and paid monthly across 12 months of the year

Start Date: Immediate start available

DBS: Enhanced DBS clearance required prior to starting on site

About the Role

Cevora Group is looking for a reliable, hardworking and conscientious School Cleaner to join our team.

The role involves maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout a school environment, helping to provide a clean, safe and welcoming space for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will work 2.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, during the school term.

The school operates for approximately 39 weeks of the year, with an additional one week worked during the summer holidays to complete a full deep clean.

Although this is predominantly a term-time position, your annual wages will be spread evenly and paid across all 12 months of the year, providing a regular monthly income throughout the school holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include:

• Cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas
• Cleaning and sanitising toilets and washroom facilities
• Vacuuming carpets and entrance areas
• Sweeping and mopping hard flooring
• Wiping and sanitising desks, tables and other touchpoints
• Emptying bins and replacing liners
• Cleaning internal glass, doors, frames and ledges as required
• Cleaning staff rooms and kitchen areas
• Replenishing soap, toilet rolls and other consumables
• Following agreed cleaning schedules and check sheets
• Safely using cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH procedures
• Reporting any damage, maintenance concerns or stock requirements
• Completing additional detailed cleaning during the annual summer deep clean

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has high cleaning standards and good attention to detail
• Is reliable, punctual and committed
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Understands the importance of working safely within a school environment
• Is trustworthy and professional
• Is comfortable following cleaning schedules and procedures
• Has previous commercial or school cleaning experience, although training can be provided

Safeguarding & DBS

As this position involves working within a school environment, safeguarding is extremely important.

An Enhanced DBS check is required and must be completed/approved before the successful applicant can commence work at the school. This is applied for by us, once we have made a conditional offer of employment, and sent directly to you.

Applicants will also be required to provide appropriate right-to-work documentation and references as part of our recruitment and safeguarding process.
