We are recruiting a Vehicle Technician to join our busy Vehicle Preparation Centre in Portbury Docks. This is an opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join a growing operation preparing high-quality used vehicles for our sales teams and customers. The role offers a salary of £35,000–£45,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience, plus enhanced overtime rates. Benefits: Salary of £35,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications Overtime paid at time and a half or double time, subject to availability Personal electric car benefit, subject to terms and conditions Choice of a four- or five-day working week 23 days’ annual leave, rising to 27 days after five years, including bank holidays Workplace pension scheme Technical training and development opportunities Bike to work scheme High street and holiday voucher club Staff purchase discounts Excellent long-term career prospectsDuties: Working as a Vehicle Technician, you will diagnose faults involving engines, brakes, transmissions and fuel systems Service and repair vehicles across a range of makes and models Rebuild engines and refurbish vehicle components where required Work closely with the parts team and Pre-Delivery Vehicle Technicians to maintain an efficient vehicle flow Identify potential hazards and monitor tools and machinery Maintain high standards of health and safety As a Vehicle Technician, produce high-quality work in a busy, professional workshop environmentRequirements: IMI or NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair One to two years’ practical experience as a Vehicle Technician is preferred Your own tools A full UK driving licence with minimal points A committed, reliable and motivated approach The ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet agreed targets Maintain high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced workshopThe working pattern is either Monday to Friday over five days, or a four-day week of 06:00–18:00 from Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.
