Our client, a well-established Freight Forwarder is hiring a Customs Clearance Clerk to join their customs team in Grimsby.

This role is a 4 days on and 4 days off position.

Responsibilities:

• Issue import customs declarations and transit documentation
• Ensure legal formalities are carried out for the import of goods arriving into the UK from the rest of the world
• Assist customers in understanding import legislation, answering any questions
• Utilising relevant software products for effective customs clearance procedures, including as Chief, Destin8, NCTS, CNS, and Descartes
• Work with Customs agencies to ensure smooth clearance processes – i.e. Port Health, Border Force and HMRC

Skills Required:

• At least 1 years Customs experience with a good understanding of import processes
• Experience using Customs related software such as Destin8, CDS, NCTS & Descartes
• Customer-focused, with a strong commitment to providing first-rate service
• GCSE Grades A-C in English and Maths / GCSE Grades 4 – 9 in English and Maths
• UK Customs Academy level 3 + desirable

Hours: 07.30am -18.30pm - 4 days on / 4 days off

Holidays: 15 days per year + bank holidays
