Join a specialist secondary boys SEMH provision in Tower Hamlets as a Barbering & Salon Skills Tutor. This role offers an immediate start and is ideal for professionals from the barbering, hairdressing, or salon industries who are passionate about imparting practical life skills and helping young people forge pathways into employment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver practical barbering and salon skills sessions to Post-16 students.
• Support learners working towards vocational qualifications.
• Teach industry-standard techniques and best practices including haircutting, client care, health and safety, hygiene, grooming, and workplace expectations.
• Promote professionalism, confidence, and employability skills.
• Supervise the safe use of barbering and salon equipment.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment for students with SEMH needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in barbering, hairdressing, or salon industries.
• Teaching, coaching, mentoring, or training experience is desirable but not essential.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Patient, resilient, and adaptable.
• Able to build positive relationships with young people.
• Confident working with students who may present challenging behaviour.
• Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners to achieve positive outcomes.
