We are looking for a proactive and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, completing reconciliations and ensuring payments and account balances are managed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Card Payment Reconciliation: Reconcile daily card transactions against internal records and investigate any discrepancies.
• Bank Statement Postings: Post daily bank transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Manufacturer Invoices and Credit Notes: Process and post manufacturer invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate allocation and recording.
• Payment Processing: Prepare and raise payments in line with company procedures and payment deadlines.
• Bank Reconciliations: Prepare regular bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving any differences.
• Warranty Reconciliations: Reconcile warranty accounts and investigate outstanding items or discrepancies.
• Vehicle Debtor Reviews: Review vehicle debtor accounts, including customer and finance balances, ensuring outstanding amounts are monitored and followed up.
• Sales and Purchase Ledger Reviews: Review posted-on-account transactions across both the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring items are correctly allocated and cleared where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Previous automotive experience
• Good working knowledge of reconciliations and financial transaction processing.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to their work.
