The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically minded and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to join a growing business specialising in innovative environmental monitoring, instrumentation and vehicle testing technologies.

This role combines technical expertise, customer relationship management and business development. You will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, supporting existing customers and providing tailored technical solutions to meet a wide range of industry requirements.

This position would suit someone with experience in technical sales, engineering, instrumentation or a related technical field who enjoys working with customers and developing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities while managing existing customer accounts.
• Provide technical advice and recommend suitable products and solutions based on customer requirements.
• Deliver product demonstrations, customer training sessions and technical presentations.
• Prepare quotations, commercial proposals and tender submissions.
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met and projects are delivered successfully.
• Represent the business at exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers across the environmental, industrial and automotive sectors.
• Keep up to date with product developments, industry trends and emerging customer needs.
• Manage sales opportunities effectively, from initial enquiry through to securing new business.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience in technical sales, engineering, instrumentation or a related industry.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
• A customer-focused approach and the confidence to build relationships with stakeholders at different levels.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach to achieving sales targets and developing new business.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK as required.
