Job Title: English and Maths Catch-Up Tutor Location: Chester Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: October 2026 Duration: Ongoing About the Role Prospero Teaching is seeking a versatile tutor to provide targeted English and Maths support to learners who need help catching up with their studies. You will deliver tailored one-to-one lessons that strengthen core academic skills, address gaps in learning and encourage pupils to become more confident and independent learners. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalised English and Maths tuition Support literacy, comprehension, written expression and numeracy Reinforce key curriculum topics and foundational skills Develop individual learning targets and monitor progress Adapt lesson plans and resources to suit different learning styles Encourage positive engagement and motivation Experience, Training and Qualifications QTS, PGCE or equivalent relevant qualification desirable Confident supporting English and Maths at the appropriate level Previous teaching or tutoring experience Experience working with pupils who need additional learning support Strong communication and organisational skills Essential Requirements Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance Two professional references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy
