In-House Legal Counsel

• Location: Surrey/Hampshire – Flexible working / Hybrid
• Job Type: Full-time (Part Time / Job-share arrangement encouraged)
• Salary: c£58k - £75k plus up to 20% Operations Bonus

Join an award-winning, Legal 500 ranked team, known for our commitment to growth, fostering strong relationships, and providing full-service legal guidance. We are seeking a pragmatic and commercially minded In-House Legal Counsel to safeguard our Group's legal, regulatory, and business interests.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Serve as legal advisor to the Group’s COLP, Strategy, and Compliance Boards.
• Provide legal counsel on legal and regulatory matters, including SRA and data protection.
• Manage regulatory returns and responses, and lead the legal M&A process for business acquisitions.
• Review and negotiate the Group’s procurement contracts and manage data protection analysis.
• Handle responses to Data Subject Access Requests and maintain the Group’s legal documentation.
• Support junior members of the Compliance team and manage commercial contract management.
• Provide legal advice on Compliance matters, manage material complaints, and handle claims on behalf of the Group.
• Conduct regulatory reviews of policy documentation and deliver internal training.
• Handle various FCA and HMRC matters, including routine reporting and submitting SRA and FCA applications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years PQE in commercial and regulatory law (PQE level is indicative; we encourage applications from candidates who demonstrate necessary skills and experience).
• Experience in M&A matters and claims management is desirable.
• SRA qualification or equivalent legal qualification.
• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• High accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail.
