Part-Time Payroll Officer

Hays are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to join an Education organisation based in Chelmsford.This is a part-time temporary role working 3 days per week for approximately 3 months, providing additional payroll support during a period of sick leave.

The role

You will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll and associated pension administration.
Duties will include:

• Processing payroll using EduPay
• Supporting monthly payroll processing from start to finish
• Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes
• Calculating deductions, adjustments and payroll amendments
• Administering Teachers' Pension Scheme and/or Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
• Ensuring pension contributions and payroll information are accurately recorded
• Responding to payroll and pension queries
• Checking payroll data and maintaining accurate employee records
• Working closely with HR and Finance to resolve payroll queries

What you'll need to succeedIdeally, you will have:

• Previous payroll experience within Education or Local Government
• Experience using EduPay
• Knowledge of Teachers' Pensions and/or LGPS
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to work confidently in a busy payroll environment
• Availability to work 3 days per week in Chelmsford
