Family Costs Draftsperson – Legal Aid Location: UK Wide – Remote / Hybrid / Office-Based

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Costs Draftsperson to join the specialist Costs Team of a highly regarded national law firm.

Offering remote working anywhere in the UK, this role is ideal for a Costs Draftsperson with strong experience in Family Legal Aid billing, CCMS and high-cost Family matters.

You will join an established, supportive team, handling a varied caseload of publicly funded Family costs work.

The Role

• Drafting Bills of Costs for complex Family Legal Aid matters.
• Preparing and submitting high-cost case plans and amendments.
• Managing Legal Aid claims and submissions through CCMS.
• Handling inter partes and court-assessed bills.
• Liaising with the Legal Aid Agency, solicitors and counsel.
• Supporting fee earners with costs queries and billing advice.
• Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements and deadlines.

About You

• Proven experience as a Family Costs Draftsperson / Costs Draftsman.
• Strong knowledge of Legal Aid billing and CCMS – essential.
• Experience handling high-cost Family cases.
• Understanding of public and private Family law proceedings.
• CostsMaster experience desirable but not essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload.
