Transport Support Officer

£13.92 per hour | [Location] | [Contract Type]

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised individual to support the maintenance and monitoring of local bus infrastructure and passenger information.

This is a varied role combining office-based administration with site visits and inspections. We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, good IT skills and a willingness to learn. Previous transport experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections of bus stops, shelters, timetable displays and other transport infrastructure.
• Support the maintenance and replacement of bus stop assets and passenger information.
• Maintain accurate records and update information using databases and Microsoft Office systems.
• Assist with producing and displaying public information and publicity materials.
• Support administration relating to bus services and network changes.
• Carry out surveys, audits and data collection activities.

About You

• Good standard of education, including English and Mathematics GCSE (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent, or relevant transferable experience.
• Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good attention to detail and numeracy skills.
• Willing to learn new systems and processes.
• Flexible approach with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and priorities.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
• Willingness to wear PPE and work outdoors when required.
• Able to walk reasonable distances as part of inspections and surveys.
