As an Assistant Accountant in Manchester, you will help keep the Accounting & Finance function running smoothly within the Facilities Manager industry by maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting activity. You will work closely with colleagues to provide clear, reliable information that helps the business make informed decisions.

They are currently going through an exciting transformation project and as a result are looking for an Assistant Accountant to support them through this journey. They are a high profile and highly sought after organisation to work for.

Description

The Assistant Accountant role is initially a 2 year fixed term contract and will be Hybrid- 3 days in Wythenshawe office and 2 remote. Reporting to the General Ledger Accountant Key duties will include:

• Supporting the month-end close process and making sure ledgers are closed accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Calculating and posting journals so our accounts accurately reflect underlying financial performance
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time
• Reviewing reconciliations and resolving or escalating outstanding items
• Supporting the delivery of agreed service levels and KPIs
• KPIsResponding to queries from internal and external stakeholders in a clear and collaborative way
• Building your understanding of commercial and operating agreements and how they should be reflected in the accounts
• Maintaining accurate supporting records and a clear audit trail
• Identifying opportunities to simplify and improve processes across the Finance team

Profile

In order to apply for this role you should:

• Be ACCA/CIMA Studier/AAT Qualified or qualified by experience
• Have previous experience of General Ledger accounting
• Be able to consider a fixed term contract role
• Be able to commute 3 days per week to Wythenshawe office site
