Interim Senior Financial Reporting Manager

3-6 Month Contract | Hybrid (c.3 days in office) | £500-£600 per day Inside IR35

Gleeson Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading, listed international business to appoint an Interim Senior Financial Reporting Manager. This is a high-profile assignment providing critical leadership and technical expertise during a period of transition, ensuring the smooth delivery of year-end reporting, statutory accounts, and external audit requirements.

This role will suit a technically strong, qualified accountant with recent PLC reporting experience who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys balancing hands-on delivery with team leadership.

You will take ownership of the Group's financial reporting function, leading a team of qualified finance professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of all external financial reporting obligations.

You will play a pivotal role in managing the year-end process, leading the relationship with external auditors, and providing technical accounting guidance across the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all Group and subsidiary statutory financial statements, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the preparation and delivery of quarterly, half-year and annual financial reporting.
• Manage the end-to-end external audit process and act as the primary point of contact for auditors.
• Prepare and review technical accounting papers for complex financial reporting matters.
• Partner closely with Investor Relations, Legal, Treasury and operational stakeholders on financial reporting considerations.
• Drive consistency and best practice across the Group's reporting processes.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, key financial controls and period-end reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen year-end reporting processes and financial controls.
• Act as deputy to the Group Financial Controller when required.
• Lead a high-calibre team of qualified finance professionals.

Essential Experience

• Big 4 (ideally) Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
• Recent Senior Financial Reporting experience within a PLC environment.
• Proven PLC audit experience.
• Strong IFRS technical accounting knowledge.
• Significant experience managing external audit relationships.
• Experience preparing annual reports and complex statutory financial statements.
• Track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Experience operating within large, complex multinational organisations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
