Interim Year-End Accountant

Interim Contract for 3 Months

£300–£320 per day (Umbrella)

Hybrid: 2 days in the office

Location: London, a short walk from Kings Cross station

We are seeking a hands-on Year-End Accountant to join a small finance team on an interim basis for an initial three-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to provide essential support with year-end preparation, focusing on outstanding reconciliations, improving financial controls and ensuring the accounts are accurate and ready for audit.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of reconciliations and making an immediate impact in a busy finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete a range of outstanding balance sheet and year-end reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of year-end accounts and schedules including preparing the audit schedule.
• Review financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Strengthen and implement appropriate financial controls and processes.
• Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and audit-ready.
• Work collaboratively with the finance team to meet year-end deadlines.

About You

• You have previous experience working within the Not-for-Profit (NFP) sector.
• You are a hands-on accountant, either qualified or qualified by experience (QBE).
• You have strong technical accounting skills, particularly around reconciliations and year-end processes.
• You have excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• You are comfortable working autonomously and can hit the ground running with minimal support.
• You are available to start at short notice.
