Tax Accountant | Bradford / Hybrid | £55,000 + Excellent Benefits

I'm working with a well established international retail business that is looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Tax Accountant.

This is an interesting opportunity for an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant with VAT experience who is looking for a varied role within industry. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of the business's VAT processes, gain further exposure to Corporation Tax and work across wider financial reporting activities, giving you a good level of variety beyond a traditional Tax focused position.

The Role

• Oversee the monthly VAT cycle, ensuring returns are accurately prepared and submitted, while looking at ways to improve existing processes.
• Work alongside the wider finance team on Corporation Tax requirements, supporting the preparation of year-end information.
• Take responsibility for capital expenditure records and fixed asset reporting.
• Act as a point of contact for external tax advisers and assist with any HMRC queries.
• Get involved in monthly reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow activities.
• Play a part in the annual accounts process and wider financial control activities.
• Help maintain strong tax and financial reporting processes across the business.

About You

• ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with VAT, ideally with some exposure to Corporation Tax.
• An interest in developing your wider tax and financial reporting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines.
• Comfortable working with different teams and external stakeholders.
