Lead Data Architect – £750 per Day – London

Contract | £750 per day | Likely Inside IR35 | Hybrid – 3 Days per Week in London

I'm recruiting for an experienced Lead Data Architect to support a major technology programme within the financial services sector.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring strong experience across NoSQL databases, data modelling and distributed data environments.

You'll play a key role in shaping data architecture, designing scalable solutions and working closely with technical teams.

The Role

• Lead the design and development of data architecture solutions
• Work with NoSQL technologies, particularly Cassandra
• Develop complex data models
• Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
• Support scalable, distributed data environments
• Provide architectural direction while remaining technically hands-on

Skills & Experience

• Strong Data Architecture background, ideally at Lead or Principal level
• Cassandra / NoSQL – essential
• Strong hands-on data modelling skills
• Banking or Financial Services experience
• Domain-Driven Design experience
• Understanding of distributed database architectures

Desirable

• CQRS
• Yugabyte or Google Spanner
• Fintech experience

Contract Details

• Rate: £750 per day to contractor
• IR35: Likely Inside IR35, subject to confirmation
• Location: London – 3 days per week onsite
• Interview: 2 stages
• Start: ASAP
