The Role: As a Nursery Cook, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery kitchen, ensuring that children receive freshly prepared, nutritious and appealing meals throughout the day. You will play an important role in supporting children's health and wellbeing by providing balanced menus that meet their nutritional needs. The successful Nursery Cook will be responsible for: * Preparing and cooking fresh, healthy and nutritious meals for children. * Planning varied menus that encourage healthy eating and introduce children to different foods. * Catering for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements. * Maintaining excellent standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and food safety. * Ensuring all food preparation and storage procedures meet relevant food hygiene requirements. * Monitoring kitchen stock levels and assisting with food ordering to ensure ingredients are always available. * Managing food preparation efficiently to ensure meals are served on time. * Working closely with the nursery team to support children's wellbeing and dietary needs. About You: We are looking for a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Nursery Cook who genuinely enjoys preparing meals for young children. You should have a positive attitude, good time-management skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards in the kitchen. Previous experience as a Nursery Cook, school cook or in a similar catering environment would be beneficial. An understanding of children's nutritional needs, food allergies and safe food preparation is important. Relevant food hygiene qualifications would also be advantageous. Most importantly, you should take pride in your work and understand how a Nursery Cook can make a positive difference to children's daily experiences through healthy, enjoyable meals.
