Multi-Trade Operative – Social Housing Voids Salary: £42,000 per annum Location: Croydon, South London Contract: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Vehicle: Company van and fuel card provided Job Description We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative with a strong carpentry background to join a social housing voids team in Croydon. The role involves carrying out a variety of repairs, maintenance and installations within void properties, ensuring homes are brought up to the required standard before being re-let. A candidate with strong carpentry skills and a flexible multi-trade background will be the best fit. The work is varied, ranging from fitting blinds and adjusting doors to macerator repairs and cooker or cooker hood installations. Key Responsibilities * Carry out carpentry repairs, including door adjustments, repairs and replacements. * Fit blinds and complete associated fixtures and fittings. * Carry out macerator repairs and replacements where suitably competent. * Install and replace cookers and cooker hoods where appropriately qualified. * Undertake general multi-trade repairs and maintenance within void properties. * Complete snagging and remedial works to prepare properties for re-letting. * Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. * Follow health and safety procedures and client quality standards. Requirements * Proven experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing. * Strong carpentry background, particularly with doors and general repairs. * Relevant NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Carpentry or a related construction trade. * Previous experience working on void properties. * A flexible approach to a varied workload. * Ability to work independently and complete jobs to a high standard. * Full UK driving licence suitable for the company vehicle. * Relevant qualifications for any regulated installation work undertaken.
