We are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Braintree that is seeking an Accounts Semi Senior to join its friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with practice experience who is keen to broaden their technical skills and continue their professional development.

The Role

As an Accounts Semi Senior, you will work closely with senior members of the team, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for a variety of clients
• Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
• Completing bookkeeping and VAT return work
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
• Supporting client portfolios and responding to day-to-day queries
• Working with cloud accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks
• Assisting senior team members with ad hoc assignments and projects
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines

About You

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or studying towards a professional qualification
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping
• Experience preparing VAT returns
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Eager to learn and develop within a practice environment
