We're looking for a Child Care Solicitor with 3+ PQE to join a well-established and growing team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive department offering a varied caseload, genuine responsibility and the chance to play an active role in its continued success.

You'll work across a range of publicly funded Child Care matters, representing parents, grandparents, family members, interveners and children, including those represented through their CAFCASS-appointed Children's Guardian.

The Role

You'll manage your own varied caseload from instruction through to conclusion, with responsibilities including:

• Handling care proceedings, adoption matters and Special Guardianship Order applications.
• Providing clear, practical and compassionate legal advice to clients.
• Representing clients confidently in court and undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
• Preparing high-quality legal documents, applications and correspondence.
• Maintaining accurate, compliant case files and meeting court deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Building strong relationships with clients, colleagues and external professionals.
• Contributing to business development and helping drive the continued growth of the department.

What We're Looking For

• A qualified Child Care Solicitor with 3+ years' PQE. Applications from more experienced candidates are also welcomed.
• Experience managing a varied caseload of Child Care matters.
• Strong communication, client care and relationship-building skills.
• A professional, compassionate and sensitive approach when supporting vulnerable clients.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business development.
• A Guardian following and established local network would be advantageous, but are not essential.
• Own advocacy experience would be desirable.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues would be a bonus.
