Customs Clearance Operator (Imports) Location: Stallingborough Hours: 4 days on / 4 days off | 7:30am-6:30pm Contract: Permanent Looking for your next opportunity in customs? Prestige Recruitment Specialists are recruiting for a Customs Clearance Operator (Imports) to join our valued client's team in Stallingborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in customs clearance, import documentation or customs operations who wants to build on their existing knowledge within an established business. You'll play an important role in helping goods move through the import process smoothly, preparing customs declarations, coordinating documentation and working with customers and relevant authorities to keep shipments moving. What's on offer? Permanent employment with an established business. A 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, giving you regular blocks of four days off. The opportunity to develop your knowledge of UK customs procedures and clearance systems. A varied role working with customers, colleagues and customs authorities. The chance to build your experience within a busy import operation. What will you be doing? Preparing and submitting import customs declarations through the Customs Declaration Service (CDS). Completing transit documentation and ensuring entries are accurate and submitted on time. Coordinating customs clearance ahead of goods arriving in the UK. Using customs software and port systems to process declarations and track clearances. Liaising with HMRC, Border Force, Port Health and other relevant agencies when required. Responding to customer queries and helping resolve customs documentation issues. Ensuring all records and declarations meet the required customs regulations. Working closely with the wider team to maintain an efficient and reliable service. What experience do you need? We're keen to hear from people with experience in customs clearance, import operations or a similar logistics environment. Ideally, you'll have: Previous experience in a customs or import-related role. An understanding of import declarations and UK customs procedures. Good IT skills and confidence working with detailed documentation. Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills. Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving approach. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. Experience with systems such as CDS, Destin8, NCTS or Descartes would be beneficial, but we're interested in your overall customs experience rather than expecting you to have used every system. Knowledge of procedures such as Returned Goods Relief, Inward Processing Relief, ATA Carnets and import licences would also be advantageous. GCSEs in English and Maths, or equivalent, are desirable. A UK Customs Academy Level 3 qualification would be an advantage but is not essential. Working hours You'll work a rotating four days on, four days off shift pattern, from 7:30am to 6:30pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Interested? If you have experience in customs, imports or clearance operations and are looking for a permanent opportunity with a structured shift pattern, we'd like to hear from you. You don't need to tick every box to apply. If your experience is relevant, we encourage you to get in touch. Apply today by sending your CV to: (url removed) Prestige Recruitment Specialists
