Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Winsford, working with children aged 5-6 years old. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young learners in a nurturing environment where learning is driven through play, exploration, and individualised support.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them access learning activities and develop key life skills. The school follows a play-based approach to learning, creating engaging and meaningful experiences tailored to each child's needs.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting children aged 5-6 years with a range of SEND needs
  • Encouraging learning through play and interactive activities
  • Assisting with personal care, including changing nappies when required
  • Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours
  • Using de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team
What We're Looking For
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential
  • Confidence in supporting children with additional needs and complex behaviours
  • A resilient and positive attitude
  • Willingness to undertake personal care duties
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
What We Offer
  • Full training and ongoing professional development
  • Specialist training in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Supportive leadership and experienced SEN professionals
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference every day
  • A welcoming and inclusive school environment

This role would be ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career within SEND education, psychology, care, or therapeutic support services.

If you are caring, resilient, and passionate about helping children achieve their full potential, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today!
